Australian Aboriginal Art is diverse, including traditional body painting, carving, painting artifacts like didgeridoos or pukamani polls, textile printing, so called "x-ray" art, and contemporary art (both traditionally informed and experimental). Different groups or tribes have different styles and types of expression.

Directions

After reading the articles, viewing the video and the examples of Aboriginal Australian art:

1. Choose a style which intrigues you and write about it. First, summarize what is in the information above, then reflect upon what you see in the art, and why you think you connect with it.

2. See if you can find out more about your choice of art online. It can be an article or a video documentary (check YouTube by searching the name of the style plus the word "documentary" - you may not find anything, but it is worth a try).

3. Summarize what you have found out and put a link to the source article or video below your summary. Did you find something to add to the info in this assignment? What do you think about what you have found?

4. Write a concluding paragraph that reflects on the entire culture of the Aboriginal Australians - art, music, ceremonies, beliefs, social structure (think gender relations), etc.
