There is considerable fury in public education about "revisionist history" and "critical race theory", which is a movement, to tell the truth about the many incidents where white Americans retold history to appear as the heroes. Consider slavery, the bombing of Black Wall Street, the unfair treatment of indigenous peoples (who lived in the United States prior to the arrival of Europeans), and the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII. There are things in our history that are shameful, yet have been eliminated from the annals of American history textbooks.
Think about life in the United States since the turn of the 21st century. How do you think the historians will portray American history for the times we are living in? What will be the focus? The hallmarks? What would you include if you were asked to author the chapter?
