Module 2/Observing Physical Development
Observing children at play is one of the best opportunities to learn about who they are and what they can do. Observations do not have to be formal or scheduled, but merely can be a chance to watch and listen. Taking objective notes will provide invaluable information you can use later to assess development, learning and use for creating activities.
Watch the video, Evan Shows Jose, and observe the two four year-old boys outdoors. Choose one child to focus on from the video. As you watch the video, take detailed notes on the child's physical development (large/gross motor and small/fine motor). Be as objective as possible in your observation. You may want to watch the video multiple times. Use resources from this module and complete the observation form below. You must include 1 resource in your answers for support and provide citation in APA format.
Write about reflective practice by addressing the following:
· Describes the goals of reflective practice.
· Explains how reflection will guide observation and assessment in your program.
· Illustrate how reflective practice is utilized in the Cycle of Knowledge.
· Explain implementation of effective reflective practice in the curriculum planning process.

· Provides at least one credible source as an APA formatted reference.
· Uses professional language with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
