Module 09 – Written Assignment – Pain Assessment

Identify a family member or a friend, not a client, and conduct a pain assessment using the COLDERR approach/questions. Write a brief summary of what you found and identify two nursing non-pharmacological interventions that you can implement.

· The paper should be over 1 page long (not including title page and reference page).

· You must have at least one academic reference to support your nursing intervention as a best practice (does not need to be a journal article)

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the ".docx" extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:

Criteria (Points)

· Conduct the Pain Assessment using COLDERR – 3 points

· Summary of findings – 3 points

· Two non-pharmacological nursing interventions – 2 points

· Correct grammar, sentence structure and punctuation – 1 point

· Appropriate use of APA format; correct citing of sources in essay body and references – 1 point

Total – 10 points
