Planning
Directors and policymakers at the Health care system have tried in enforcing practice guidelines, implementing electronic medical records, and reducing errors. However, not any have brought more effect to the health care system, hence making healthcare institutions to begin implementing innovative plans. Planning aids organization to determine what resources and actions are required to achieve its goals (Kornelius et al., 2021).
The planning process offers the necessary data to the top management to formulate valuable decisions regarding how to assign the resources to permit the business to achieve its goals. As a result, the output is capitalized on; hence, no resources are misused on projects with little success. Planning also helps establish organizational goals. Laying down an objective that challenges everybody in the institution to try hard for enhanced achievement is an important aspect of the planning process. Businesses may not be too contented with how they perform or are liable to go down the ground to rivals.
Strategic planning is required by businesses since it helps set priorities and direction in a business. Strategic planning describes the view of organization success and prioritizing the actions that would actualize the views. The strategic plan helps individuals understand what they ought to be operating on and what they must be functioning on foremost. There are no apparent articulated and defined strategies, and the company might find it hard to achieve the set goals and objectives (Kornelius et al., 2021).
The healthcare business is sometimes confusing and too complex for the good of individuals to figure out. It constantly changes as a result of government mandates or advancement in technology. It is turning out to be more essential to plan to attain the healthcare organization success. A well-thought strategic plan aids every organization level, regardless of how small or big it is. The advantage strategic planning has on a healthcare organization is that it increases the engagement and motivation of the employees.
Every employee desires to be heard and recognized. Having acknowledged by their managers might significantly bring impacts their engagement, safety management and productivity. Employee desires to be allowed to formulate confident decisions would be important to the company (Trstenjak & Cosic, 2017).In addition, this encourages workers to perform beyond the least standards acceptable specified in the performance evaluation or job description. Therefore, staff may not be inspired to develop themselves for a business that fails to precisely affirm a clear vision or a good, implemented plan.
Strategic planning can help a healthcare organization increase its team collaboration and cooperation. Team cooperation and collaboration is a vital element in bringing healthcare that is of high quality. Workers have to function jointly to make the institution a victory. Consequently, effective strategic planning forms in the healthcare system may get staff together to bring great customer service, improved performance and quality care.
Identifying and collecting data that is meaningful to measure an organization's progress towards accomplishing its strategic objectives and the coexisting internal operating practices alignment with this strategy has been one of the historical challenges in the healthcare system (Trstenjak & Cosic, 2017). Bearing that in mind, it is a moment for an essentially new strategy. As a result, Barbara ought to shun away from a supply-driven health care system planned about what physicians perform and toward a patient-centered system prearranged about what patients require. She has to change the emphasis from the profitability and volume of services offered physician tests, hospitalizations, visits and procedures to the patient results realized.
Furthermore, she ought to reinstate the fragmented system nowadays, where each local supplier provides service full range, with a system where services for specific medical situations are concentrated in health-delivery institutions and in the correct places to bring advanced significance care. To accomplish this, Barbara has to do one more research before planning and implementation can happen.
While planning is great, there are different ways an organization can be successful, for instance, using different types of market research such as secondary and primary. Primary research is intended to meet the specific and unique needs of an organization (Williams et al., 2017). Surveys, interviews, questionnaires, and focus groups are all examples of primary research. Primary research provides two basic types, exploratory and specific. Consequently, a primary research offer more specific organizational results. Secondary market research is where an institution uses former concluded studies and applies the outcomes to their circumstances. The disadvantage to the organizations is that the outcomes are not precise to an institution; moreover, an individual might not be aware of every variable concerned. At long last, the outcomes might further be wider than the company's niche, hence becoming hard to aid advice a decision of the business.
I would recommend Barbara focus on communication with employees about the plan. As previously stated, communication with employees makes them feel included during the planning process. With this, they will also be more motivated to work and work together as a team. I would also recommend Barbara to do secondary research and then primary research before planning. This way, she will see and compare what others have done in the past and apply it to the organization. Likewise, secondary research can help Barbara come up with a plan for the organization's changes.
Finally, while implementing the plan, primary research can help adjust the plan according to the result received. Organizations that adhere to today's broken system will turn out to be dinosaurs. So, once an organization recognizes they need a plan, they now have the role of becoming the catalyst.
