Option 3

"Good philosophizing requires the ability to reason correctly, to defend assumptions, and to anticipate and rebut rebuttals" ( Moore, pg. 7)

"What if I am the only conscious being on the planet? Maybe the rest is just puppetry? Illusion. " ( The Examined Life. What is Philosophy?"

1. Philosophical Tool Kit -  A philosophers ability to support their position with arguments. A philosopher can successfully support their argument when they use reason and logic in their argument, defend assumptions used in counter arguments , and participate in thought experiments.

2. The Socratic Method - Used by Socrates, the Socratic method ( or dialect) method is  used by asking / probing questions in search of a better definition that can not be refuted.

3. The Benefits of Philosophy - The benefits of philosophy include better analytical and critical thinking skills, reasoning, problem solving, logic, and communication.

4.Philosophical Questions - Philosophical questions prob deeper into the fundamentals and big picture concepts. Examples: What is reality? Does life have Meaning? What is Truth? What is our human obligation?

My views and Relevance to contemporary life:

1. Philosophical Tool Kit - I view this as the fundamentals of communication. The best Example I think of is a Lawyer. The Philosophical Tool Kit of laying out an Argument, rebutting counter arguments, and using logic and reasoning ( facts) is how Lawyer communicate and win their cases.

2. The Socratic Method - My initial thought and view of the Socratic method is - This is what good teachers do! Good teachers are able to ask questions and prob students about additional questions to make them rethink their answer or think differently to further their ability to understand. The problem today is that good teachers are hard to find. Is it because they are underpaid? Under appreciated? Not trained? Not sure, I have the answer to those questions.

3. The Benefits of Philosophy -  The (Moore) book specifically mentions about benefits directly applicable in the legal and medical fields. However, in a broader sense, philosophy benefits the entire community and human race when it allows us ( people) to dig deeper to better understand ourself, our peers, and the entire human race. If more people " loved to seek knowledge" for the sake of seeking knowledge we could create a more harmonious lifestyle on the planet.

4. Philosophical Questions -  In my view, these are the questions I would speak privately to myself at night. It takes a lot of courage to say these questions out loud and to other people. However, the benefit of internalizing these questions and seeking your own belief about them and then sharing and converting  with peers is beautiful.  It was not until recently when an event in my life caused that " click " feeling for me to feel comfortable addressing my beliefs to answer these types of questions.
