Discussion Post 1 Reasons to choose the android platform One might have noticed the craze for android mobiles. Although iOS does provide relevant features, compared to android phones, it has always failed to pass the expansion test compared to the OS gadgets. Customers do get attracted based on its cost, but its flexibility is unavoidable. The mobile app developers are always targeting the android platform as it provides flexible options to work on. The developers can work on its types, as it is not limited to a specific style. Every style gets an acceptable form, making it easier for the developers to develop according to their wish to help during the production procedure (Pintea et al., 2018). It also has more customers to target as they get attracted to the numerous applications an android device offers them, and they can install them without much hassle on their devices. These features have always drawn customers massively and have been making it easier for the developers. Competition to itself The android devices have been making lives easier with a vast option in their applications. It provides the customers with a wide range, and its always-evolving nature has made it a competition for itself. Its flexibility among devices, applications, etc., has influenced the manufacturers. They get the right to create the devices according to their wish. They might change the style, sell at a reasonable price, and conquer the market. The manufacturers look into their client's needs and establish the products accordingly. Workable from every corner, the android has allowed the manufacturers with numerous options. They create devices that serve the customers with the latest versions that they can install whenever they want. OS has always offered its clients the most prominent hardware for the market. Its operating system is the reason behind its success today. It offers its customers the option to customize it accordingly. It expands its market using its features of both cost and flexibility. It has never controlled its customers based on the choices they make with the applications. Ingredients for mobile applications on the iOS platform Apple phones do help the developers enhance their skills and knowledge but on a limited platform. They are given options to build the operating system with their unique ideas but within a specific area, which does not provide many flexible options. However, there are certain ingredients the developers might need for the iOS platform. Having the right set of ideas is a necessity. Their concepts should be clear about their objectives and goals. It makes them successful and also be beneficial for their target customers. Next would have the specific tools for its completion. For example, provisioning files, Xcode and iOS SDK, and components of the iOS’s SDK (Chris Adamson, 2018). The project might require specific resources, the application's anatomy, and files supporting the creation. The developers should also be aware of the structure so that they can avoid disruptions. Mobile app developers should choose android because it is flexible and allows the installation of various apps. Flexibility is observed because various mobile companies such as Samsung and Motorola use android while Apple uses iOS. Mobile app developers should target the android platform because it has many customers. Android apps can be accessed by many customers allowing the app developers to make more profits (Zhang & Cai, 2019). App developers should target android because it encourages innovation. Developers can try new things and generate new ideas that improve users’ lives. Application developers should target android because the developed applications can be approved and deployed within a short period. Why is Android competition to itself? Android is a competition to itself because various companies like Oppo, Samsung, and Redmi use the android platform for their smartphones. The companies compete in the market to attract more customers and have a competitive advantage. Android smartphones are innovated frequently, resulting in self-competition. Android users shift from one phone to another when new phones with unique features are developed. A company can manufacture android smartphones with extra storage and improved cameras creating competition to other android platforms. Android competes itself because it is an open-source that accepts various applications. Describe key ingredients needed to create mobile applications on the iOS platform Compliance is the first ingredient required when creating a mobile app. The iOS platform has various regulations that application developers should follow. The mobile application should have features to manage access. Quality and security are ingredients required in mobile app development (McWherter & Gowell, 2012). Quality provides users with a vital experience and keeps them loyal to the brand. The apps should be secure because customers use iPhones to store sensitive data. Examining the app to avoid competition is an ingredient required when developing an application. The mobile apps implemented on the iOS platform should be unique to survive in the market. So there is very little need for development cost. The android platform mobile apps are compatible with many brand mobiles. The number of users using android platform mobiles is very high, so the market is huge for Android. It can be made easy to download for users from the google play store with less cost. It supports different platforms like Windows, Mac OS, or Linux platforms (Meier et al., 2018). Unlike iOS, which is only specific to Apple company, Android is open-source, and many companies are using this platform to build different mobile applications. So every manufacturer does their changes or business requirements on the Android OS, which made Android compete. Also, the number of people interested in buying these smart mobiles is very high because of the affordable smart mobiles. Different mobile brands are using this Android mobile, and all these companies add new features to the OS to develop new apps, making Android competition itself (Hussain et al., 2018). To develop mobile applications in an iOS platform, we need an integrated development environment named Xcode with a graphical user interface and the swift programming language to develop a mobile app on the iOS platform. Also, the performance of the app is important. So, the users need a high-performance mobile app and security because the privacy of the user's contents is a key element as users have a lot of confidential information on their smart mobiles. The technologies and tools to pick is also key element, so we have to choose the right technology, and once we complete the development, we have to do proper testing (Ye et al., 2018).
