Privacy Issue

Summary

The article talked about the increasing use of digital devices for interacting with the passage in the airport. The digital devices are phased with privacy issues which threaten the security of the passengers when interacting with the application. Cybercriminals are shifting their attention to airports as they collect huge data of sensitive information. The research was done using the systematic literature review (SLR) method to find the challenges to the digital information utilized at the airport. All the technological areas in the airport that contain sensitive information were reviewed in relation to done research, CMJ, and CFIP, to implement the most appropriate solution to the challenges facing this field. Through the research, it was found that the security challenges arise as a result of unauthorized users accessing sensitive information, collecting big data without privacy control, manipulation of information in cloud servers, altering information by authorized personnel, leakage of information from the passenger's side, and unauthorized access to the system. However, there are some recommendations to these security issues that will protect the airport from data privacy issues. Among them is to use the most recent general data protection regulation (GDPR) that includes the principles for personal protection. The other way is through the Australia Privacy Principles (APPs), which control the use of personally identifiable information (PII) and multi-access edge paradigm (FMEC) for cloud server security.

The article's event of researching the data privacy issues and solutions relates to the concept of privacy issues since it addresses the issues facing the airport in relation to data privacy. This was reinforced by giving solutions that cannot only be used by the airport but any other organization to protect their information. It is essential for the organization to ensure its digital world is well protected to protect its clients' information.

Reflection

From the research event, the ethical decision-making involved in the use of digital security bodies to secure their information. This brought a positive impact to the organization as it was able to identify loopholes for data privacy issues. The places that resulted in insecurity, like unauthorized access and the modification of the stored information with personal interest, were located. These security loopholes will lead to the security documentation of using two-way authentication and FMEC to ensure only the authorized personnel are supposed to access information and edit.

As an IT professional involved with the event, I could have called for the airport system audits report that is most recent. Through this, the security patches would have been properly identified, and the solutions recommended based on the systems that are utilized by the airport. As a result, the most appropriate solutions to the systems basing on the security issue identified.

The main issue that resulted in the occurrence of security issues is the access of information by unauthorized personnel. As a result, the third party could access the information whenever they want and manipulate it for their own benefit. The event is very beneficial to the global conversation concerning privacy issues as it has unveiled the holes that are used most of the time by the third party to cause harm to the organization. As a result, the information will be used by the security agents to come up with more solutions to the privacy issues affecting big and small organizations.
