The Company sells its products worldwide through its retail stores, online stores and direct sales force, as well as through third-party cellular network carriers, wholesalers, retailers and value-added resellers.. Apple is not 'owned' by any one person (as it's a publicly traded company), but rather by various shareholders and Institutional shareholders as well . The top five shareholders are Arthur Levinson, Tim Cook, Craig Federighi, Jeffrey Williams, and Bruce Sewell. The (three largest) Institutional shareholders are Vanguard Group Inc., Berkshire Hathaway Inc., and State Street Global Advisors, which combined own 15.93% of the outstanding shares. Tim Cook is one of the largest insider shareholders in Apple, owns 901,474 shares as of December, 2017.
