Milestone One Guidance

want to provide a bit more guidance on a couple sections of Milestone One (the template has similar information). First of all, be sure to write the paper on the Case Study, BYD China (you can find it in the announcements as well as the learning modules) and apply the concepts from the rubric to the case study.

 

Students in the past struggle with the following two areas the most: 

 

Forecasting System:

There are 7 steps listed in the textbook, use these seven steps - not something from google

List each step out 1-7, then next to each one apply it to case study. At the end, there should be a summary that includes a PREDICTION of the results of the forecasting system that you just built. 

 

Supply Chain Risks:

There are 9 risks listed in the textbook - again do not google for an answer it will likely be wrong or incomplete

Some students have made a two column table with the 'SC Risk' on the left and the 'Mitigation' on the right and this works out great! 

 

Be sure that you cite all material/wording that is not your original thoughts.  Turnitin should return a match no higher than 20-30%, please check your match percentage after submitting.  I will return the paper to you to revise if the match is too high and not written in your own words.    Exceptions to this are:  sources on the reference page that are highlighted, titles, and using the questions in your paper that come back as matches. These types of things are excluded from the match results when I review.  You should use APA format for in text citations and the Reference page. The Purdue Owl is a wonderful resource for more information on APA format:  https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/  Also, the SNHU writing center is a great source of information on APA.

Papers should be written in your own words with outside sources used mainly to support your thoughts.  They should not be a large portion of your written paper.  Please read the announcement on Plagiarism posted in Week One.
