Next is to identify a minimum of three SMART project goals. Each SMART goal must include all five elements, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. Let's review the first example to implement a fully automated claims processing system by 31 December, 2024.

This goal is specific and measurable because it says, "a fully automated claims processing system." It is not a better version of the system. It is a system ready to serve its purpose.

The date, 31 December, 2024, is time-bounded. You must include an estimated completion date, not a period or a time frame, like three months. Based on your professional judgment, this goal should be attainable and realistic, which means it is doable. Appraise two anticipated obstacles and two possible opportunities in your proposed solutions.

For the last requirement, formulate a strategic action plan to accomplish goals and solutions. Be sure to use the worksheet for Strategic Plan and follow the example to include SMART goals, required tasks, individuals involved, resources needed, timeline, and measurements to accomplish your plan. Your Week 6 final paper is an APA-formatted paper.
