First day of High School

It was a known fact for me that my first day of High School will be challenging. I had higher expectations about the learning experience and I knew that the teachers would be strict. I was also nervous to meet my classmates after the summer. I was also hopeful that this year will bring a lot of good experiences and that I will be able to learn new things. On Sunday I made all the preparations for my first day of High school so that I do not feel overwhelmed on Monday morning. My backpack was tagged with all the material required along with the binder. I had high hopes that it will go perfectly and I will also make new friends. Finally, Monday morning arrived and officially my first day of high school started. After having my breakfast and preparing for the day I entered my school nervously. The feeling was different in comparison to the middle school. This feeling was related to getting into the real world.

I remember that when I looked around everyone was very happy and they seemed to be enjoying their first day at school. Everyone was showing off their new outfits while eagerly waiting for the belt ring. I was working around to find something to do. Finally, the school bell rang and I went to my table. Our teacher arrived and introduced himself. After a brief introduction, he started to explain all the rules and regulations to move around. The number of students was more in comparison to the 8th grade and the majority of the students were hoping to ace good grades. The majority of the freshmen were struggling to get a hold of their scheduled classes. After the first few hours of introduction and orientation, finally, the lunch time began. By this time all the students were opening up to one another and had already started making friends.

I was excited to meet a few of the students from my previous class and to also meet new students. The corridors were full of students and some of them had already set in their friendship groups. After the lunch time was over, we again got back to our classes. This was the time when our English teacher walked in. She was really nice and although she was not too strict but she was capable of keeping class under control. She kept the lecture on the first day lighter and we enjoyed learning about new things. The next lesson was about the projects that we were going to make during the year. I was very excited to learn about new topics. Our instructor provided us detailed greeting of the projects and the possible topics that we can select. It was a very interesting session.

Considering all these details, I knew that this year was not going to be easy. Last year was a lot more fun and I even got distracted a lot. However, I had planned to take my studies seriously from now on. I had set a couple of goals beforehand so that I remain on the right path. Clearly, the first day of my high school was good and I enjoyed meeting new teachers and friends. My new friends and teachers were very welcoming and they made me very comfortable in this new environment. However, it was too soon to make any final judgment. I wanted to dive into the experience and learn new things with time. One thing was for sure, I was feeling that I was heading toward a bright future.
