Methodology
The topic above is in relation to issues that women have faced from the 20th century including lack of proper education. Gender studies is an interdisciplinary area that analyses gender identity and representation. This field is the best for the topic above because it encompasses all issues that revolve around gender that are both male and female issues around the globe and at all times. For this study, the best methodology that would be applied in answering the research question would be secondary data analysis. The secondary data analysis will involve studying the available studies on feminism in the 20th century and feminism in the 21st century. The data will be collected from journal articles and books from well-known databases on social sciences. In secondary data analysis, the researcher only compiles data from different relevant sources in coming up with the research goals and objectives.
Justification for the Methodology
The rationale for the choice of this methodology has been guided by the nature of the research question. The research question is “Did women liberation in the 20th century differ from women's equality and diversification in the 21st century?” This research question requires analysis and assessment of the different tactics that women applied in their liberation between the 20th century and the 21st century. Due to the time differences, it is difficult to obtain primary data, which makes the secondary data analysis the only viable option in attaining the research goals and objectives. In addition, there are changes that are being observed over time. According to history, human dynamics may take decades or even changes depending on the human aspect under study. Given that the research study is comparing the 20th and 21st century, it is difficult to have apply direct observation as a data collection tool in attaining the goals of the research question. In addition, the population under study is millions of people who have existed in the world in different time periods. For this reason, it would only be valid to collect data from different sources that recorded primary data at the time in which it occurred. For validity reasons, this methodology will use sources from relevant databases. With relevant databases such as Ebscohost, JSTOR, and ProQuest, the chances are high that the secondary data collected will be accurate and reliable. Lastly, the data collected will be analyzed with precision and accuracy in ensuring that valid conclusions have been drawn. With such a methodology, it will be easier to attain the goals and objectives of the research question.
