After conducting a research on the causes of high employee turnover, I have found a close relationship of this factors and cause for high employee turnover within the company. I have also established the possible challenges to our failing recruitment process, which prompted me to formulate recommendations which will help the company resolve some of these issues.
Before the recruitment process, the interviewing panel needs to establish common aspects of evaluation. This will help reduce biasness. The criteria of evaluation should be based on the skills useful to the company. That is, the interviewers should understand what the organization wants. Secondly, the interviews should be planned diligently. There should be enough time for preparation, enumeration of the skills and qualities to look for in the candidates and the methodologies to be used to achieve the results. After the exercise the results should be quantified to determine the candidate with the highest score in terms of possession of skillset needed by the organization.
To increase employee retention rates, the company needs to adjust the current compensation scheme and ensure employees who put in extra work are awarded accordingly. This will serve as motivational factors. The leaders also need not to exert too much pressure on the employees. Otherwise, the leaders should aim at developing a self-driven workforce. During the interviewing process, the prospective employee should be made aware of the expectations that the organization has set on him and the factors that will be characterizing his work. This acts an awareness call to avoid surprises in the future. These recommendations are expected to be implemented as soon as possible by the relevant offices.
