Thanks for your help on the previous memos; they have moved our projects along.

While preparing for my meeting with the CIO I came across an article that talked about something called

Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (it has something to do with the cloud I think; doesn’t everything?)

and how it can save us a lot of money on desktop support. The article was referring to hosted desktop

virtualization (the one where the OS and applications are on a server within our data center with a thin

or zero client). Can you research what this is, how you think it might help us (where in the company this

might make sense) and what the issues are associated with making the transition? What are the impacts

on our newly designed LAN and WANs (based on your previous recommendations)? Who are the major

vendors out there? What are the downsides (if any)? Is this something we should consider?

Could you get something to me by our due date? I am looking for two pages at the very most. Thanks.
