It is our distinct pleasure to offer you the role of assistant teacher for grades 2–4! You will be working alongside other dedicated professionals in the field who are committed to providing a supportive environment to each and every student. Your daily duties will consist of assisting classroom teachers and students in performing daily tasks to be outlined by the cooperating teacher and administration. For this full-time, salaried position, we are offering a starting annual salary of $25,000, paid bi-weekly, with the option for lump payment or continued bi-weekly payment during summer months.

As River Bend Elementary employees work under five-year Teacher’s Association Agreements with the school district, our current contract ensures annual cost-of-living increases negotiated by the Association. On average, the cost-of-living increase amounts to 2.15% of base salary, but for exact percentage increases, please refer to the employee packet you will receive on your first day.

Medical

HMO Green Full-time hourly and salaried employees are eligible for HMO Green. Employees on this plan are immediately covered, as are dependents under age 26 and spouses. The average bi-weekly cost to employees as individuals is $32; employee and spouse coverage is $64; employee and full-family cost is $98 bi-weekly. This plan provides quality care from a vast list of network physicians. Your primary care physician must write a referral to specialists. There is a $20 co-pay for routine care, a $50 co-pay for walk-in and specialists, and a $150 co-pay for emergency room visits.

Green Choice Full-time hourly and salaried employees are eligible for HMO Green. Employees on this plan are immediately covered, while spouse and dependent coverage begins three months into employment. The bi-weekly cost to employees as individuals is $32; employee and spouse coverage is $64; employee and full-family cost is $98 bi-weekly. Preventive and routine visits are 100% covered, with no co-pay. Walk-in co-pay is $20; emergency room visits are $25. There is a $1,500 deductible per plan.

Vision Full-time hourly and salaried employees are eligible for low-employee-cost vision coverage. Employee coverage is $1.30 bi-weekly; employee a nd spouse is $2.75 bi- weekly; employee and dependents under 26 years of age is $2.90 bi-weekly; employee and family (including spouse and children) is $5.00 bi-weekly.

Dental Dental insurance is provided at no cost to the employee. Dental coverage extends to spouse and dependents at no cost to the employee.

Life Full-time salaried employees have the option to participate in life insurance coverage partially funded by the employer after six months of employment. Life insurance coverage amounts to 2x the annual salary of the employee and comes at no cost to the employee. Higher coverage can be purchased by the employee through the employer provider, but it will require the employee to cover premium amounts that are above the calculated premium for 2x the employee’s salary.

Retirement

401(k) Part-time, full-time, hourly, and salaried employees are eligible to contribute up to the IRS limit of their bi-weekly paychecks, and the employer will match up to 2% of the annual salary or full payment amounts for work completed within the tax year September 1 through August 31. Employer match will be contributed in lump sum in December following the end of the tax year in which it was earned.

403(b) All employees, including contract employees working for the school or district for more than 20 hours per month, are eligible to participate in tax-exempt direct deposits into a 403(b). Employees participating in this plan will be allowed to contribute up to 5% monthly from their paychecks without taxation. Employer will not match or contribute to this fund.

Professional Development

All employees are eligible for our online professional development lecture series. This series of professional development lectures is available through our school portal and may require outside verification for completion. In addition to the lecture series, all faculty and support staff are entitled to reimbursement of up to $1,200 per year for continued higher education from an accredited college or university. This reimbursement is contingent upon the successful completion of the course with a grade of B or higher.
