1. Introduction

i. Introduction Statement

· Public transportation is a form of travel that is locally offered and it enables several individuals to travel together along designated routes. Private vehicles or transport is the individual or personal use of transportation cars. While private vehicles can be used along with other modern public transportation, people choose between them depending on convenience and urgency needs.

ii. Thesis Statement

· Public transport including planes, railways, and buses are cheaper than using private transport which is a vehicle used by an individual or a group of people like motor bikes and cars.

2. Main body

a) First Supporting idea

· Topic sentence- Public transport is cheaper overall but wastes a lot of time compared to private vehicles.

· Supporting Sentence- Public transport is a cheap transportation option and even cheaper when one is visiting some places frequently or is aware of his or her place to go since one can get discounted tickets (de Oña, Estévez & de Oña 2020). However, public transport is a waste of time since they do not follow a precise schedule. Public transportation is important because it can carry a vast number of passengers at a go.

b) Second Supporting idea

· Topic Sentence- Private vehicles are costly to acquire and run but are more suitable for long distance travelling compared to public transport.

· Supporting Sentence- The high cost associated with private vehicle comes from the cost of fuel i.e., petrol and diesel. The vehicle must also be maintained to keep it running properly. It is time saving since it doesn’t follow a fixed schedule (Mugion et.al 2018). People prefer using private vehicles for long distances due to speed and convenience. Private vehicles and transportation in general is important as it saves users from delays and they can travel at their convenient speed and time.

3. Conclusion

Different developmental changes in transport facilities have occurred proving to be beneficial to humans. Public transport and private vehicles exist to serve the needs of individuals. Their use is determined by one’s financial capacity and the level of convenience they wish to achieve.
