Team development is important not only for specific team projects, but to the organization as a whole. The more training and development provided to team members, the higher probability of retention and improved performance. This week's video content identifies five categories where learners, or team members, may face challenges or issues: Environment, Behavior, Capability, Belief, and Identity. The team leader must first appraise which category best represents the issue faced by the learner and then determine what role the team leader can embody to best support the learner: Guide, Coach, Teacher, Mentor, or Sponsor.
