Practice level
Based on the assessment of the case presented, it is clear that Mrs. Helen Petrakis is facing stressful challenges due the increased in the responsible. She is not receiving any source of support from both the husband and children, therefore, there is a need to have suitable solutions to help in coping with the provision of healthcare for the elderly individual. Helen will therefore be advised to seek counseling and support from the group or the psychotherapist. This will be important in improving her emotions and cognition function. This approach is important in reducing anxiety, stress, and depression. Mrs. Petrakis will also be advised to seek positive support from the friends to helps in the alleviation of the adverse outcomes (Schelbe & Geiger , 2017).
Program level
Helen is lacking source of support; therefore, it is important to initiate her participation in the caregiving program as well as psychotherapy. These interventions are important in motivating her to cope with the needs of caring for her family and her well-being. The support she is receiving from the church is not adequate, therefore, there is a need to seek for other sources of support (Schelbe & Geiger , 2017).
The skills acquired in the psychotherapy session will enable Helen to improve on her competency in caregiving. Helen requires in-home respite care and the nursing services to help in the provision of the companionship and care needed by the grandmother. The psychotherapy training program will help Helen in acquiring the skills, learning on the strategies of managing the present situation, and effectively addressing the present problem she is facing. The self-care skills acquired in the training will be important in improving the relationship between Helen with her family, and reducing the exposure to the risk of experiencing stress (Klimaviciute et al., 2017).
