· What is the importance of the development, creation, and training of community emergency response teams (CERTs) in a local community? Explain.

· How would you facilitate CERT volunteer participation from members of the local community? Explain.

· Why might members of the community be apprehensive about joining a local CERT team? Explain.

· What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a CERT within a community? Explain.

· Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

Part II - Group Project

Assignment Guidelines

· For this assignment, groups will compile a condensed version of a complete Emergency Response Plan for Ocean Port and Restover from the Week 4 Key Assignment scenario.

· The plan must include the following sections:

· Title

· Table of contents

· Synopsis

· Executive summary

· Introduction

· Details

· Summary

· Conclusion

· Recommendations

Group Portion (1)

Using the Small Group discussion area, discuss the development of the emergency response plan and then divide the above sections equally among the members.

Individual Portion

· Complete your assigned section(s) of the emergency response plan.

· Use the course materials and Web resources for assistance.

· You may also use any previous assignments in this course to assist you with your portion of the emergency response plan.

· Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

Group Portion (2)

· Compile the Individual Portions of the assignment into the final emergency response plan.

· Be sure to include all group members' names and their contributions within the final document.
