You will create the following four components.

Step 1. Job Description: Develop a job description for a current vacancy in your school. Your job description should include:

· Position title

· Position purpose

· Required qualifications

· Preferred qualifications

· Essential responsibilities

· Instructional expectations

· Collaboration expectations

· Family/community responsibilities

· Professional expectations

Your description should reflect the school's actual needs and improvement priorities.

Step 2. Recruitment Advertisement: Create a recruitment advertisement designed to attract qualified candidates. Your advertisement should:

· Clearly describe the position

· Identify required qualifications

· Highlight important school priorities

· Communicate why a candidate might want to work at the school

· Be professional and realistic

· Encourage qualified applicants to apply

Consider using a digital design tool such as Canva, Adobe Express, or PowerPoint.

Step 3. Interview Questions: Develop 6–8 structured interview questions. Your questions should address areas such as:

· Instruction

· Student engagement

· Data use

· Collaboration

· Differentiation

· Family engagement

· Professional growth

· School improvement

At least two questions should require candidates to provide a specific example from their experience. Avoid questions that seek unnecessary personal information or information unrelated to the position.

Step 4. Interview Scoring Rubric: Create a scoring rubric that will be used to evaluate each candidate. Your rubric should include at least five competencies. Possible competencies include:

· Instructional practice

· Data use

· Student engagement

· Collaboration

· Family engagement

· Professional growth

· Leadership capacity

· Alignment with school improvement priorities

Use a consistent rating scale, such as:

4 — Exceptional Evidence 3 — Strong Evidence 2 — Limited Evidence 1 — Insufficient Evidence

Define what each score means.

Step 5. Reflection: Write a 1 page reflection on the overall process of the overall hiring process.
