Objectives: (At least 2 using ABC format)

All Objectives must be directly connected to a standard. For children Birth through PreK the Standards must come from Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS http://www.gelds.decal.ga.gov/ ). For Kindergarten through Third Grade the Standards must come from the Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS some areas have moved to Common Core) https://www.georgiastandards.org/Standards/Pages/BrowseStandards/BrowseGPS.aspx

Examples:

GELDS Standard –CLL4.4c: Describes activities, experiences and stories with more detail

1.     Given the story King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub read by the teacher and a series of “wh” questions, children will describe the characters and setting in the story using the new vocabulary introduced in the story 90% of the time.

 

GELDS Standard- CD-MA6.4b Combines simple shapes to form new shapes

2.     Given paper, markers and a model, children will copy circles, squares,

triangles with closed lines and in recognizable shapes to the

satisfaction of the teacher.

 

Materials: Must list all materials required for this activity

Procedures:

1)     Introductory activity (“The hook”, A brief creative way to grab children’s attention)

 

2)     Developmental Activity

Directions: What the teacher will say and do

Student response: What the children will say and do

Must address all objectives

 

3)     Assessment (checklist, anecdotal notes, observations, student

work, photographs)

 

4)     Closing Activity (A brief creative way to end the activity and to begin transition to next activity…not just “clean up”)

 

Evaluation: If you actually did this activity with children

How well did the students do in meeting the objectives? How motivated were they? Did you do sufficient preparation, explanation? What would you do differently in the future? For lesson plans that you did not actually do with children you must at least have the four questions

 

Accommodations for inclusion students:

What would you change or add to this lesson plan to help a child with special needs be successful?

For a child working above his/her age level in (name or describe area of advancement such as expressive language, math skills, etc.) I would (describe the activity that would be a more appropriate version of the activity done with the rest of the class. Remember doing more problems, pages, etc. of the same activity is not enrichment.
