Lesson 4

Objective: At the end of the lesson,

1- Students will be able to learn the importance of sharing their food.

2- Students will be able to talk about the importance of sharing cultures.

3- Students will be able to learn how to write a letter.

Introduction: The teacher introduces the topic and talk about Thanksgiving. Next, the teacher asks the students to share their food. While feasting, the teacher asks some questions;

1- What do you think about Thanksgiving?t

2- Why is Thanksgiving so important?

3- What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

4- What are you thankful for?

Activity: “A letter for the future”

The teacher talks about the importance of letter. Next, the teacher asks the students to write a letter for the future. After giving the blanks, the teacher explains the difference between an essay and a letter. This letter should be a paragraph (50-150 words). The teacher wants the students to write the date of current day. This activity takes 20 minutes. The students will be expected to write about what they are thankful for and what they feel in Thanksgiving.

Closure: After collecting the papers, the teacher explains the purpose of the activity and says that s/he will send the letters when they will start high school. Then, the teacher and the students clean the classroom together. Finally, the teacher thanks for sharing food and finish the day.
