Results of the Leadership Question:

2

In the results of the leadership question, I scored a total of 24 marks. I did an exemplary job

on this paper, and the marks that I scored made me feel happy about the insights that I had input

in the leadership question. In the leadership question, the various aspects of leadership styles and

how these aid in shaping up the issue of decision making and conflict resolution were well

outlined.

Leadership Style:

There are various styles of leadership in any business organization. However, in my case, I

chose the participative style of leadership. This style is more democratic; thus, it allows all

members to be involved in decision-making. In addition, the participative type of leadership

makes all the members within the business organization feel motivated to work, thus improving

the quality of production and execution of assigned tasks (Fiaz & Saqib 2017).

Shaping up Decision-Making and Conflict Resolution:

The participative type of leadership has an impact on decision-making and conflict

resolution in any business organization. During making decisions in the business organization,

the leader should involve all members in this process. Having different insights from various

individuals aids in creating a firm decision that will always help the organization thrive forward.

However, decision-making may be slow in situations that may require a fast turnaround to an

arising problem since it involves different people with different ideologies. The leader always

has the final say in all this process.

However, in disagreements and conflicts in the business organization, a lot of time is

consumed to reach a consensus. Therefore, when a conflict arises, the leader should try possible

ways to engage all the members to determine how the conflict started, the people involved in the

3

conflict, and the cause of such conflict. It helps to curb future conflicts, and a permanent solution

can be sought from within the members as fast as possible through participative style. For

example, members may complain about a particular leader who may treat them harshly and

rudely in a business firm. As an overall leader in the firm, confirm the matter from the members

and then look for a permanent one. Some of the solutions to this problem include changing the

leader to maximize member's quality of production.

Behavior Change Theory:

Behavior change is always an objective that any organization or staff works should possess.

There are various behavior change theories that we discussed in class. Social cognitive theory is

one of the behavior change theories discussed in class. Bandura championed the approach. The

idea majorly stated that various individuals get driven by external forces and not inner forces

(Schunk & DiBenedetto 2020). The behavior of a human being can be expounded easily through

a triadic interaction of an individuals' behavior, his or her personality, and the various

environmental factors. Environmental factors include the situational aspects and the working

environment in which an individual executes the behavior. Drives, instincts, character traits,

among others, portray someone's personality.

Effects on my Business:

The way someone perceives and understands this theory can significantly affect how one

leads the business. For instance, in my case, I know that the social cognitive approach entails the

mental aspects and the sociological aspects like a working environment. I have to understand all

my workers and my staff; understand their character traits, their instincts and drives, and their

conducive working positions. After understanding all these aspects can raise quality and increase

production. The employees' mobility and teamwork achievement will affect my business

4

positively. Self-efficacy also is entailed in this theory as employees often think of doing

something good for the business firm and then successfully venture into it, exhibiting successful

activities and behaviors (Schmitt et al., 2018). Self-efficacy should be more often encouraged

since it aids in building the employees' confidence.

Social cognitive theory dramatically influences the way a business organization works and

carries out its activities. For example, social cognition can achieve services like the training of

employees. Self-efficacy, group efficacy, and proxy efficacy are also very significant in the

workplace or the business organization. This theory also incorporates motivation services, among

other products.

Organizational Chart for my Business:

An organizational chart is a simple diagram showing a business organizations' structure by

visualizing the details on the functions, responsibilities, and well-outlined relationships among

various individuals within an entity (James & Lucas, 2021). For instance, I want to be a physical

therapist, and thus I can build my organizational chart for the business of a Physical Therapist.
