Project Outline
Over the past years, businesses have experienced tremendous growth and to ensure success, business management has to be effective acting as a backbone in that field. Technological advancement has led to information technology being incorporated in businesses nowadays for automation. Many are the questions that project developers ask themselves when it comes to developing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). ERP is an integration of applications that manage and automate business functions related to services, human resource, and technology.
In considering an ERP, the approach I will use will be the waterfall model. This is to ensure that each step in the development will seamlessly flow to the next. The development of the software will be divided into distinct sequential phases where the outcome of one phase will be the input of the successive phase. The following are the phases that will be followed throughout the development stage:
1. Requirements. In this phase the objectives to be met are to understand the project design, function, and purpose. The input and output specifications will be marked after being studied.
In this case, the system requirements are five namely:
Financial / Management Accounting
Supply Chain Management
Treasury Applications
Treasury and Risk Management
Bank Communication Management
2. System Design. This phase will help to specify the hardware and software requirements which will define the whole of the system architecture.
3. Implementation. Small program units will be developed, then tested independently to check functionality.
4. Integration and Testing. After the above are tested and get to meet their desired functionalities, individual units will be then integrated into a whole system and then get to be tested all together.
5. Deployment of System. When goes in accordance with the system requirements and specifications without errors, the system will be deployed to the customer.
6. Maintenance. The system will go under maintenance after installation is made in ensuring the customer’s needs are met. Since change is inevitable, in case of a change in the users' needs the system will undergo further modifications that will help address the situation.
