ABSTRACT:
Renewable energy generation is expected to become one of the main sources of energy in the future. However, the rate of failure of renewable energy projects has a negative effect on the complete adoption of renewable energy technologies. The goal of this study is to examine the reasons for failures in a comprehensive manner and provide recommendations for the sustainable management of renewable energy projects. It is accomplished by integrating results from previous research on the failures renewable energy projects with an ethnographic approach and practical experience in the implementation projects. Furthermore, this study will present hermeneutic guidelines to be taken into account by stakeholders in the implementation of any renewable energy project.
This proposed study will provide valuable insights into post-disaster inspection of the causes and lessons learned from them. In addition¸ identify potential risk factors affecting the lifecycle of renewable energy projects to prevent similar accidents in future.
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND:
Global warming, energy shortages and environmental degradation have become more extreme in the world in recent decades. And utilization of renewable energy provides significant means of addressing the challenge [2]. Over last decade, the growth of renewable technologies is tremendous.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Many accidents occur in renewable energy system. For example, fire accident at Argentinian solar park’s central inverters, fire in turbine at New Roundhouse Industrial Wind Facility West of Cheyenne, icing on wind turbine, collapse of second blade of MidAmerican wind turbines by wind gust. This is review study which requires collecting many reports and technical journals then provides some significant summary that can be useful for Renewable energy investors.
OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective is to examine the reasons for failures in a comprehensive manner and provide the mitigation for the sustainable management of renewable energy projects. The data will be collected by integrating results from previous research on the failures renewable energy projects with an ethnographic approach and practical experience and provide valuable information for stallholders to help them in implementing new renewable energy projects.
RESEARCH OUTLINE:
This research project will be prepared in five chapters, the first chapter will discuss about the general details of renewable energy and causes of failures in renewable energy. In the second chapter the failure case studies on wind and solar energy will be discussed. In the third chapter the failure case studies on hydroelectric power and nuclear energy and its causes will be covered in detail. In the fourth chapter failure case studies on geothermal energy will be covered. The fifth chapter will be in detail conclusion.
LITERATURE REVIEW:
Literature Review is an important part of a research study. Some of the papers are presented in the below table. The table briefly summarizes the result of the studies with a reference name.

APPROACH AND WORKPLAN:
The approach for this research study is consists of several tasks. These tasks are described in details as follow
Task 1: Information Search:
The information gathered for this research study is from various references, including journals, previous conducted research papers and online websites and weblogs.
Task 2: Literature Review:
Some of the literature found for this research is shown in the literature review section. More research paper will be reviewed and summarized.
Task 3: Gathering Journals:
In order to conduct a detailed study on causes of failures in wind and solar energy and give summarized reasons for the failures journals, review papers are collected and reviewed.
Task 4: Summarize Collected Journals:
From all the details collected from journals, review papers make a detailed study on causes of failures in wind and solar energy and give summarized reasons for the failures.
QUALIFICATION:
Khaja Absar Mohiuddin is a Master in Civil Engineering student with focus areas in Construction Management and Sustainability at University of New Haven. Mr Khaja has one year of experience as site engineer and he also has published 2 research papers and also he has also done case study on Green Building during his undergraduate study this would be helpful in making the report of research.
Mentoring this research is Dr. Byungik Chang, an Associate Professor, Interim Chair from Civil and Environmental Engineering department at University of New Haven.
