Course Objectives:

· CLO #1: Examine ethical values and principles inherent in healthcare.

· CLO #2: Appraise legal requirements for healthcare organizations.

· CLO #6: Analyze the health administrator’s role in preventing and managing ethical and legal incidents in a healthcare organization.

Assignment Prompt:

· As a healthcare administrator, you are required to report any ethical and legal incidents to your Board of Directors and other stakeholders. 

· Develop a communication plan which includes a presentation to the stakeholders and also a written plan. 

· The Board expects transparency, as do the other stakeholders, including the public. 

· What ethical guidelines would you expect to be followed in this communication plan? 

· What particular types of incidents could remain in-house rather than reporting them publicly? 

· Present the details of the guidelines you would use in making your decision on which ones to disclose with the impact Public Relations on the incidents reported.<o:p>

Instructions:

This is a two part project.  You must write a 11 page written communication plan and also submit a presentation to present your plan to the Board of Directors. Your paper should be well formatted in APA style.  Be sure to proofread your work.  You should include a minimum of 8 outside references.  Your presentation should be 10-12 slides and EITHER include speaker notes or a link to a video of you doing the presentation (you can use http://www.screencast-o-matic.com for this purpose)
