I support the argument of Dualism theory based on different facts, such as the body-mind argument, where there is a belief that the body and the mind are two other things. Dualism is about viewing items differently (Westphal, 2016). The body is physical, contrary to the brain, which is one of the common differences between the two sets of elements under discussion under the dualism theory. Therefore, based on the facts of Dualism, two realities cannot be combined; instead, they should be viewed separately, such as the physical, the body, and the spiritual. The fact that the mind is non-physical is not part of nature as opposed to the body, which is physical. Therefore, the mind is not touchable or seen, cannot be considered part of nature, and needs to be separated from the body. Based on substance dualism, it is clear that the mind and the body are two separate features. The mind operates independently of the body and dictates what an individual will do without being guided by the body. The substance is beyond property because it also contains things that contain properties. The term substance is used to mean something that exists independently without depending on others. Therefore, the argument on substance helps prove why the body and the mind are two distinct substances because the mind exists independently. And the existence of the body does not depend on the mind. In reality, the theory of Dualism considers other factors that can act as counterarguments against its fact. For instance, there are associations where the mind and body interact; this does not mean that they depend on each other, but the theory explains that the interaction between the body and the mind can produce a specific effect. A good illustration is a drunkard person where body takes too much alcohol, which will impact the brain through confusion. The association of the brain and alcohol can affect the body's stability. Therefore, the association and interaction between the brain and body cannot be used to justify that they depend on each other.

Consequently, I support Dualism based on the argument that the mind and the body are two separate things that can sometimes interact for a specific mission, but no part wholly depends on each other. Dualism provides knowledge about the physical and non-physical nature of the body and mind. It creates an argument about whether there are interactions between the body and the mind. Does it mean they depend on each other if there is an interaction? Based on the argument in the theory of Dualism, there is an interaction between the mind and the brain, but each part makes an independent move which means that it is just an association but not a dependence.

In conclusion, dualism theory explains well the difference between the mind and the body. In its argument, the mind and the body are independent parts where the mind is non-physical while the body is physical. Therefore, desire being separated, there is an interaction between the mind and the body.
