Government and City Officials Meetings

By,

JonPaul DeLisi

What project I choose

I chose to have two meeting to attend. These two meeting will help me give a clear understanding of how and what influences change in city and government operations.

Interaction

No questions were answered or taken by people there unless it was an employee or one with a bill that needed to be voted on.

VA interaction was similar to how meetings in large companies are held.

City Council meeting was about what the city needs and the what funding was available.

Differences

VA board meeting relies on donations.

Veteran Assistance runs off donations for most of the year.

City Council needs funding from the state and federal funds.

City votes on improving infrastructure

Similarities

Improving the life of others and a community

Agendas are straight forward

Congratulate those in the community and in the organization

How they conduct business with funding in thought with every decision

What I learned

What is important to the communities

Having these meetings allows for democracy to take place and focus the funding where its needed most

City officials and Government programs have the same goal in mind
