I. Describe the historical event that you selected. Why is this event significant?

The historical event that I’ve selected is The Equal Rights Amendments. This event is very important because it gave women the same rights as men.

II. Describe at least two secondary sources that you could use to research your historical event. Your sources must be relevant to your event and must be of an appropriate academic nature. In your description, consider questions such as: What are the similarities and differences in the content of your sources? What makes them appropriate and relevant for investigating your event? What was your thought process when you were searching for sources? How did you make choices?

IV. They are numerous of source that can be used for a secondary source however the two that I have chosen are:

Equal Means Equal by Jessica Neuwirth

The Patchwork Quilt of Gender by Mary Ann Glover

Gender inequality is not a new issue, and in order to make it a thing of the past, we all need to be educated on it and understand why it is so wrong. Even though it’s the 21st century, gender inequality is still a prominent issue in the United States and around the world. In order for this issue to improve, both men and women need to be on the same page. The ERA is necessary to secure the rights for women, LGBTQ+ community, and gender nonbinary citizens. The United States Constitution designed to guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex; it seeks to end the legal distinctions between men and women in terms of divorce, property, employment, and other matters.

IV. Based on your review of primary and secondary sources, develop a research question related to the historical event you selected. In other words, what would you like to know more about?

After reviewing my primary and secondary sources the research question that is related to the historical event that I’ve selected I which the Equal Rights amendment the question is because the youth is the hope for our future, is teaching students about gender equality and its impacts at a young age will make all the difference in creating equal opportunities for everyone despite their gender?
