“Why some experts are trying to redefine suicide,” written by Temma Ehrenfeld, is a

health article about what are the reasons that people are trying to suicide themselves and why

some experts are redefying it. Mostly author used examples and researcher of experts definitions

what is suicide and reasons. First of all, the author gives an example how Bre Banks cutted his

wrists after she saw a comment from his boyfriend on Facebook, and his words were about

divorce. She said that she saw hallucinations and she heard some kind of voices like “slit your

wrists”. For most people suicides cause by depression or mental illness. However, it may affect

people who are totally in good mental health. According to the Centers for Disease

Control(CDC) statistics shows that suicide rates strongly increased after 1999. Analysis in 71

studies shows that 60% people worldwide denied suicidal thoughts when they asked by their

physiatrists, but they suicided themselves anyways those who denied that they are not going to

suicide.

“Why some experts are trying to redefine suicide” is a health based article which is

explains why people are suiciding. I think no one is waking up thinking to commit a suicide, and

suicide is not a only thing that we can solve our problems. We can try to cope our internal

problems with patience. At some point of life, people might get depressed and feel helpless. It is

totally fine that people sometimes feeling in this way. The reasons of people committing suicide

are divorces, family related problems and love. Of course these are not only reasons of suicide.

In my opinion, suicide is not a solution; in contrast, it is escaping from your problems and fears.

And in some religions like Islam and Christianity, suiciding is not acceptable action. In Islam,

suiciding is one of the worst sin that people can do it for them. Everything will be all right. We

just need patience, and we have to be calm.
