Hello Class! My name is Melissa, I am a 19-year-old second-year undergraduate Psychology major in active pursuit of my Bachelor of Arts, I also plan on acquiring my PhD in the field following my BA completion. The ultimate goal, for me, is to make a difference in the community on the most fundamental level, which is where most of the world’s issues originate one way or another - in the human mind. I hope to operate a private practice someday with the aid of people of all different ages and backgrounds. This has been the biggest dream of mine in which I feel as if it is my predetermined purpose in some respects, almost at a spiritual level one could say… My dream profession is something that I am extremely passionate about and I try to enjoy the process thoroughly, as the destination isn’t where all the pleasure lies, as impatient as I can get about the time it takes to get there - haha. I feel as if most of the issues in our community are very fundamentally rooted within the individual human mind, one thing I live by is: “Guard your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Actions govern your habits, and habits determine your character. Your character is your destiny”, this is a very broad depiction of how fundamentals can determine the reality of a current situation or what could be seen as fate, this quote something that I got from a teacher during freshman year of high school and it has promptly followed me since. I absolutely adored this concept that she referred to as “seeds”, and such just goes to show that if you can positively alter/enhance the thoughts/perspective of another, you could potentially influence their destiny positively, which is a small difference in this very large community; but to address this fundamentally, one person at a time - a difference is made.

Upon the completion of the Political Typology quiz, my results reflect that my best fit is “Committed Conservatives”. I don’t agree with this determination whatsoever. At least, I consider myself more of a Libertarian personally; above all, I believe that it is hard to put a label on my political views as they vary across the board completely, they are all over the place for good reason. So, I don’t necessarily follow a particular political party more than I follow my individualized beliefs per se. I agree greatly with the views of Ben Shapiro for example, I love watching his debates on different subjects, I also particularly enjoy listening to Jordan Peterson. In short, if I were to identify with a political party, it would be Libertarian - so I do not necessarily agree with the results of this quiz. Perhaps if there were a greater number of questions - it would be more of a precisely individualized outcome. The philosophy of Libertarianism depends on the core principle of liberty, of course; I believe in true freedom, but for this freedom to be somewhat balanced with a respectable amount of government control. On the other hand, I also implement newfound philosophies in my beliefs that don’t necessarily fit the libertarian agenda.
