Introduction to Research Manuscript

The research topic targeted for the final research manuscript is bio-fuel/alternative fuel for commercial and alternative fuel. This topic has attracted widespread attention over the recent past with many developments underway to find alternative fuel sources for the aviation industry. The rationale for selecting this topic stems from the detrimental environmental effects that conventional fossil fuels used in the aviation industry manifest. These effects include increased emissions of greenhouse gases that have exacerbated the phenomenon of global warming (Nelson & Reddy, 2018). Besides having negative effects on the environment, global warming also affects biodiversity in detrimental ways. It is worth mentioning that fossil fuels used in the aviation industry are additionally non-sustainable, mainly due to the continuously depleting nature of petroleum-based fuels.

Apart from their role in ensuring environmental sustainability, aviation fuels made of sustainable resources would also support economic and social development (Nelson & Reddy, 2018). Notable examples of alternative sources of fuel that can find direct utility in the aviation industry include biodiesel, synthetic fuels, and electric drive systems. Nevertheless, in order to assure success in developing and deploying bio-fuels and alternative fuels in the aviation industry, it is paramount to address some challenges that have undermined the development of these fuels. Some of these challenges as identified by Socha, Socha, Cekan, Cekanova, Hanakova, & Puskas (2017) include production economics characterized by high production costs, pessimism among some concerned stakeholders, and technological challenges.

This what the instructor wrote regarding this paper:

Henry,

A research paper is not just an end of term review of the literature sooooo  are you going to compare existing sustainable fuels and assess the pros and cons of each and then make recommendations based on that? Or what?
