It is evident that life’s surprises nerve stop to happen. There are various opportunities where any person secretly wishes for anything exciting to happen to him or her. Something unusual. It is important to note that the real surprise is when the wish that one had unexpectedly comes to reality. Initially, I never thought nor believed such a situation could ever come to happen to me. Such a thing or a moment that could make me stop and look back at the happenings in awe. Majority of the people, especially those who have never had an adventurous encounter do not know that something small as being lost in the forest should have a significant impact on a person.

In the entire of my childhood, I liked the wild. My family and I would often go for walks in the forest of Coote’s Paradise. Most often I used to think of what would happen if we could lose our ways from the main trail and we had to live off the land until the time we could get back to the “right track.” I and my brother grew older and continued to go for the walks, but the thoughts of living in the forest soon disappeared. This was when it happened. It all started when we decided to take a different path from the main trail. Surprisingly, the path “disappeared” and no any family member who had information regarding our whereabouts. However, this event gave me the feeling of excitement. Everything including the plants appeared different. I felt detached from the life stressors and normal routines. This experience made me appreciate the fact I have everything, particularly the family that I would ever need.
