Questions asked

1. How do you usually go to Chinatown?

Alex Chen: I usually will go to Chinatown on weekends. Sometimes I go there with friends for meals. Because recently years, there are more new restaurants opened in Chinatown, we have more choice for different kinds of food there.

2. What do you usually do for entertainment in Chinatown?

Alex Chen: After all, here is America, as international students from China there are not any entertainment suitable for us. But sometimes I will go to Chinatown and sing Karaoke with my friends

3. Do you usually buy food in ethnic market or normal grocery in America?

Alex Chen: Personally, I prefer to shop at ethnic market. Because, there, I can find much stuff that I want, such like snacks, fruits. However, ethnic market is too far away for me to get there. So, in order to save time and money, I can only go to the normal American grocery around the campus.

4. Do you think the stuff in ethnic market is cheaper than normal grocery?

Alex Chen: According to my experience, I feel like the vegetables and fruits in ethnic are cheaper than grocery. And the price of meat and seafood are higher than grocery.

5. Is the bubble tea store popular with people?

Eric Kay: Since the store was opened, it attracts many young people. Also, many foreigners become big fans of bubble tea.

6. Do you usually talk with customers in English or Chinese?

Eric Kay: It depends on customers. Typically, I usually speak with customers in English. But if customers are Chinese, I will talk with them in Chinese. Also, because of the job, it gives more chance for me to speak English. I can also learn more American culture.

7. How long have you been clerk in bubble tea store?

Eric Kay: I have worked here for a half year. Almost, everyday there are a lot of customers come over the store. Now, we are planning to expand the store.

8. How do you like the work environment here?

Eric Kay: Personally, I am ok with the work environment. Sometimes I am busy in the afternoon and evening on Weekends. The workload is not heavy for me.
