Examples are :
Eric: I enjoyed hearing about Eric’s culture preparing a woman for marriage. I didn’t know that there were so many different processes people go through before a marriage and to be married. I think that part that rattled me, and others that weren’t aware, was the part where a woman is lathered in shea butter and put outside for a man to kiss her. I don’t like it but I do find it very interesting. I like that this interview shared a lot of cultural details that shone a light on something unknown to me. Nechell: I appreciate Nechell’s courage to share her story and new closeness with her daughters. I found myself empathizing with her and her daughters, and I know it’s hard to deal with abuse in your home and to find out how much a loved one suffered. I am glad Nechell and her daughters reached a new closeness that potentially can make them grateful and admire each other more.
