Integration Paper 2
Multiple Intelligences
Task:
1. Complete the online assessment for Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences found at: http://www.edutopia.org/multiple-intelligences-assessment.
Please read these instructions carefully and respond to all prompts.
2. Related to your assessment results, please answer each of the following questions. In your response, be sure to specifically identify and use one or more concept(s) from chapters 5, 6, and/or 7 (i.e., Piaget, Vygotsky, information processing, language):
· According to the assessment, which two intelligences appear to be your strongest? Which two intelligences appear to be your weakest?
· How accurate do you believe this assessment is related to your intelligences? Why (use examples)?
· Share two examples of how your current professors engage multiple intelligences in class. If you feel that multiple intelligences are not engaged, select one class and propose your ideas for change. Why do you think these changes would help?
· What strategies do you use to learn material/skills when it is not presented in alignment with your strengths?
Purpose: Analyze your personal intelligences as a way to further understand Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory.
Audience: You are the audience, it is a form of a meta-analysis of your intelligences. You are writing to yourself as an expert about Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences.
Format: Since this assignment is related to different intelligences – you may choose from a number of different formats for submitting your response. You must be able to submit your responses in Blackboard, but you may choose from one of the following:
· Write a short paper (2-3 double-spaced pages), including an introduction, body and closure. Please use at least one credible source to support your response Use APA referencing format including in-text citations and a reference list.
· Create a poster with a recorded voice over. The poster could be created in PowerPoint, or you could use poster board and supplies of your choice. In either case, we need to be able to clearly see the final product and hear your analysis. References are still required.
· Make a PowerPoint (or Prezi) presentation with a recorded voice over. We need to be able to clearly see the final product and hear your analysis. References are still required.
· Make a speech. Record yourself making a short formal talk about what you learned and your responses to the above questions. References are still required.
