Rough Outline of Major Paper

Points: 5%

Format: This is individual work. Do not collaborate with others.

Submitting your work: Your final project must be uploaded using the Rough Outline of Major Paper Upload Link. You may submit early if you like.

Instructions:

· Read through the instructions for the Major Paper.

· Email your instructor or post on the discussion forum if you don’t understand the instructions for the Major Paper assignment task.

· Pick your topic. If you choose one of the suggested topics, you do not have to email your professor. If you choose a topic that is not on the list (which you are most welcome to do!), then you must email in advance to have your topic approved. Do not start working on your rough draft if your topic has not been approved.

· The rough outline should be at least 5 pages in length. Do not include a cover page! Simply put your name on the top line of the document. Please do not put your name, your instructor’s name, the course code, course title, date, etc. This wastes space and will not count towards your page limit.

· The rough outline should show what topics you plan to discuss in various different paragraphs. You should also include a list of references that you are working with to date. Of course, you may add more references between this outline and the final paper submission.

· Your outline can use bullet points or full sentences.

· The minimum requirement for the outline is 5 pages, but you are welcome to submit more if you wish. Since your final paper needs to be 15-16 pages, plus references (starting on a separate page), you are very welcome to submit a full rough draft for this assignment if you wish.

Grading Rubric:

/ .5 / 1 / 1		Topic is suitable for the final paper assignment. Outline includes section on why the topic is relevant in 2018. Outline shows promising potential for a 15- to 16-page final paper.
