Reading report
Instructions for Reading Report
1 Insert consecutive page numbers centered at the bottom of each page and beginning with the number “1” on the first full page of text (do not number the title page).
2 Begin your report with a summation of Professor Foner’s introduction to the reading.
3 Then number and answer the study questions in the order in which they appear at the end of the readings. If a question contains more than one part, assign each part a letter in parentheses; e.g., (1a), (1b), (1c), etc. Be sure to answer all parts of all the questions.
4 After you have answered the study questions for each reading, discuss what you consider its historical significance within the context of its general period in American history.
5 Your finished report should be at least 3 pages to convey thoughtfully and substantively (1) your summation of Professor Foner’s introduction to the reading, (2) your answers to all parts of all the questions at the end of the reading, and (3) your evaluation of a reading’s historical significance within the context of its general period in American history. Insert headings for the Introduction; Answers to Questions; and Historical Signifiance.
