Success in life is impossible without other people, which is why networking is important to build a strong social circle. Identifying people talents play a vital role in helping an individual align their goals. That is why during this semester I plan to connect strategically with three people in my network to make new contacts and strengthen my circle and build my portfolio.

The first individual I have in mind is a registered nurse named Mr. Perlas who is a clinical quality compliance administrator from Anthem Blue Cross. Mr. Perlas has not only helped introduce me into quality and risk management but has also helped get accepted in programs throughout my academic goals. Therefore, I plan to reach out to Mr. Perlas during a business day and possibly during lunch time due to the fact he is mostly doing clinical site visits with his staff which can provide me an opportunity to make new contacts. With the goal in mind of no later than September 29th, I will block off some time and send an invite to Mr. Perlas to meet at a local café to catch up on things and meet some of his co-workers. This will help me build my network from the clinical aspect as almost everyone he brings is also a registered nurse.

My efforts of making new contacts upon meeting with Mr. Perlas should not stop there. As a result, my second individual that I plan to network is with a physician named Dr. Daher who has a chiropractic clinic and a good amount of employees. Dr. Daher once hired me to help with clerical duties for his office for over a year. After strictly thinking about Dr. Daher, I plan to give him a buzz at his office and set up an appointment to swing by before October 13th. The goal in mind is to follow up with Dr. Daher and meet his employees and grow my network as his clinic tends to have many specialty providers and talented administrative staff members.

As I continue to think of my networks, I decided to open my contacts on my phone and came across a classmate named Ms. Diaz that I went to school with for my undergraduate degree. Ms. Diaz is a health care administrator and holds a master’s in health administration and has several employees who report directly to her. I plan to send her a text message to set up a time and day no later than October 20th to her office which I can meet some of her staff.

Meeting with these three individuals will give me an opportunity to meet other talented and valuable people like themselves. Networking is about building relationships and with these people they can help open new doors and be a support system throughout my academic, professional or personal goals.
