ISSUE ANALYSIS

Directions: Students will investigate the contemporary issue of international political salience found below and demonstrate an understanding of the position taken by nation-states, intergovernmental organization, and non-government organizations regarding this particular topic.

Please note: students should use the template provided below as the basis for completing this report. YOU ARE NOT BEING ASKED TO PUT YOUR ANSWERS IN ESSAY FORMAT.

It is the location, evaluation, and effective use of information from diverse sources that this particular assignment is designed to measure. Students are required to utilize a variety of different sources, both online and traditional, in completing this assignment. No more than 1/3 of the sources used can be online sources. In completing the assignment, you can use either MLA or APA format for your citations. Please feel free to consult with a librarian if you are not familiar with creating professional citations. A formal bibliography must also be included with your report. Your bibliography should contain at least ten different sources.

Some examples of non-online sources that should be used include: books, newspapers, peer-reviewed journals, news magazines, television broadcast transcripts, etc.

A student’s response will be no more than (3) THREE single spaced type-written pages for text and double spacing between sections, not counting the bibliography. I will neither read nor grade any information beyond the third page.

Topic: The spread of nuclear weapons to additional nation-states beyond the nation-states that already possess them is a highly contentious issue within the study of international politics.
