J. Levi c. Byle The complex impoverished community structure of villa miseria provides an interesting perspective on what it means to make a successful community in a modern world, outside the typical forms of government. Accountability, reciprocality, and well being can take on different forms than are traditionally seen in other locations of our modern societies. We can try to quantify how the people in the notorious Villa miseria simply make their way of life and how that functions

Thomas Lobato- Productivity vs Pay “Since the late 1970s, our policy choices have led directly to a pronounced divergence between productivity and typical workers’ pay” (Economic Policy Institute, 2021).

“Returns to education over the past half-century have beaten the American stock market” (The Economist, 2018)

Andrew Loader 10/5/21- I would be interested in doing an infographic on the impact of climate change on the environment and human health. Human activity is significantly increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and as a result is causing the average temperature of the planet to increase. An increase of 2 degrees celsius would be disastrous for the environment and human health. (https://climate.nasa.gov/)(https://www.epa.gov/climate-change)

Mico Ople - Money making decisions. I like this topic and infographic because it is an important aspect in my life. My ultimate goal is to be financially free and that is why I am making decisions that will help me get there. I also want to help my family and friends to have that freedom because it is difficult to be in that position if we don’t manage our money correctly. https://www.capitalone.com/about/newsroom/mind-over-money-survey/

Brandon Trautner , 10/5/21 , Effect that poverty has on mental bandwidth.

Hunter Hutson (topic: profiting off divorce)- Mackenzie scott (formally Bezos) was awarded a 4% stake in amazon worth $57 Billion following her divorce to Jeff Bezos which made her the richest woman in the world (at least at the time of divorce, now #3). The divorce industry in 2021 is worth $11.9 billion in the US alone.

Ben Daymo: 10/5, he current world food production system in its current state is outrageously unsustainable. The seafood market alone, which provides 40% of the worlds population with their main food source, is in dire straits with nearly 70% of all fisheries being either overfished or at maximum fishing capacity, and aquaculture brings its own issues. Agricultural systems around the world have been clearing important ecosystems to make way for farming land. All of these factors combined make buying sustainable food near impossible for consumers unless they are willing to spend increased wealth or time doing research or buying different brands. Moises Ramos: The infographic that I have chosen neatly displays data on obesity worldwide and organizes the data into different contributing factors. This is organized clearly so that anyone can understand the information being given. The color scheme is also pleasing to the eye and emphasizes more important information in a bigger font than others. It should be worth noting that millions of people worldwide have perished because of obesity. http://www.healthdata.org/infographic/obesity-and-overweight-increasing-worldwide

Werahre Tahmahkera: This infographic shows the prevalence of obesity in adults and children in the United States. It also shows the cost burden of obesity in America.

James Heiman: 10/5 This infographic shows various ways of improving mental health overall. I

like the large central image that gives you a baseline of what you are about to engage with.

Then it uses different size fonts in order to guide you eyes throughout the piece.

Anna Ciszewski- I would like to do my infographic on climate change. It is a topic I am very passionate about and would like to learn more about while making the infographic. Eleven percent of all global greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans are due to deforestation— comparable to the emissions from all of the passenger vehicles on the planet. https://www.conservation.org/stories/11-climate-change-facts-you-need-to-know

Myths about climate change that need to be addressed: Myth 1 The Earth’s Climate Has Always Changed (While this is true, the warming cycle we are currently experiencing is not explained by natural events). https://www.wwf.org.uk/updates/10-myths-about-climate-change

Reason why I like these infographics: They’re simple but not childish. They bring vital core information to the table while still being digestible and interesting. I enjoy the visualization of the Earth being at the core of it all and how the planet is depicted as a ticking clock or being attacked by natural/man made forces.

Lauren Cardoso: Increase of cancer rates in petroleum workers. Petroleum isn’t just polluting the environment, it’s also a hazardous job that sees rates of cancer skyrocket in its “on hands” workers. Micah Simpson - “Youth Tobacco Use”

Annie Cooper- Infographic on “Eat Healthy. Be Healthy. Save” I would like to create my infographic on healthy eating and the benefits of it. The Infographic I have found as an example is from MyPlate. This infographic provides a lot of useful information on the costs involved with eating poorly and how it leads to chronic illness. The Infographic provides a lot of data to express how Americans can solve many problems just by eating healthy.

Christina Cruz: Fashion eCommerce I want to focus on how the fashion industry has changed and shifted due to the rise of eCommerce. I want to research how this could be both a good thing and a bad thing and what that means exactly for consumers and producers. With my infographic, I want it to display the good and the bad sides of eCommerce and make sure that they are noticeably different.

Amanda Haffner: This infographic catches my eye because it emphasizes the numbers of the data and is set up in a easy to understand way. The reader can pick which facts they want to read first based on seeing a large/ small number or the name of social media they regularly use. I also really liked this social media infographic. It is comprehensive and contains a lot of useful information in an organized way. It shows the problems and also shows solutions. I would want to make one similar to this. I haven’t yet decided what I want my infographic topic to be but am considering something about excessive social media use or unhealthy eating.

Erika Armenta 10-5-21: I like this infographic because it is very easy to read and understand. The colors and information flow of the graphic is very easy on the eyes. I work at SRP so doing an infographic for the company using my access to information would be beneficial. But I'm not sure.

Damon Marcinko - Infographic on US military spending

I like this infographic, specifically the left side with the bars giving a visual scale to how much the US spends on its military. Miguel Morales (Oct. 5): description of what the topic is, visually appealing, is specific to USA so it is not an overgeneralization of the world, gives data with set numbers and not round-about estimates, has sources at bottom of infographic so we can fact check or look up information for ourselves if we want to know more, also gives us visual info so we can not just read but also physically see. Taylor Smith: 10/5/21 Streaming War Infographic

This metric is interesting because a significant portion of data is restricted into a single graphic, not a collection of several charts. It may be too small to see here, but the chart accounts for audio, video, broadcasting, and news. The chart also records company acquisitions, mergers, and global adjustments for smaller services like Youku or Deezer.

Pandora Papers Infographic is simplistic, but works to display quantitative comparison in a spooky way.

Makenna Bloomfield: Brain health consequences from social media. Could potentially pull data from this source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7366948/ (need to discover where they got their data)

Robert Oakley: 10/5/21 This infographic is neutral and it uses a visual appeal to show the opportunities that people have living in poverty as it also shows some of the effects of poverty.

Surosh Nathaniel Kumar :

I like this infographic because it is unbiased and relatively exhaustive regarding the material. The designer takes an open eyed approach regarding the complexity of the matter. It is important to be able to boil down ideas to their basic form and create a visually appealing method of delivering information. It breaks down the idea to its simple forms and spends time talking about the pros and cons.

than just blue.
