Individual Assignment – 44 Marks = 15%
Summary:
A key outcome of this course is that students gain knowledge of various entrepreneurial skills and innovative approaches necessary for addressing social issues that have not been adequately addressed by the public or private sectors. With this in mind, students are challenged to individually complete a presentation and report about a successful social entrepreneur.
Submission Instructions:
Use Turitin to self-determine the originality of your work. Late: A 10%-mark deduction, per day, will be applied to all assignments submitted after the due date. Submit through the appropriate dropbox. Assignments will not be accepted via email or memory sticks and 10 days after the due date.

Presentation
Your presentation should include:
a) Background about the entrepreneur
· Who your entrepreneur is, and their accomplishment?
· Their personal background, how s/he became successful today, and the struggles they have faced in their career
· The most important social entrepreneurial characteristics they have demonstrated
b) Impact of the entrepreneur
· What products/services they are best known for creating
· How they have made a difference to the industry, the society, people’s lives, etc.
· Picture(s) of your entrepreneur and his/her brand, products or services
GC&E Report
Your GC&E report should identify how your entrepreneur supports the concepts of Global Citizenship & Equity and explain how learning about them allowed you to meet at least one of the GC&E outcomes promoted by Centennial College.
The six outcomes identified by the college are:
1. Identify one’s roles and responsibilities as a global citizen in personal and professional life.
2. Identify beliefs, values and behaviors that form individual and community identities and the basis for respectful relationships.
3. Support personal and social responsibility initiatives at the local, national, or global level.
4. Analyze issues of equity at the personal professional and global level.
5. Analyze the use of the world’s resources to achieve sustainability and equitable distribution at the personal, professional, and global levels.
6. Identify and challenge unjust practices in local and global systems.
Required:
Presentation (10%):
· 4-5 minutes
· (no videos)
· Reference research throughout presentation (in-text citation on slides and reference slide at the end).
Report (5%):
· 2 pages (excluding cover page, references and appendices)
· APA Formatting (for citations and referencing as well as overall organization)
· Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, flow of thought, clarity of ideas and creativity
· Minimum of 4 references (with intext citations)
