Introduction

An implementation strategy is a critical process in project implementation. It ensures that appropriate activities and actions are adopted to steer the organization towards achieving its strategic objectives. The strategic implementation also helps the organization to adopt realistic and achievable initiatives. Most organizations fail because they set unrealistic goals that are difficult to achieve. This memo explains how the implemented information system will support new product offerings and address various changes in the organization.

Significant Changes

The implemented information system brings different changes that are beneficial to the organization. The system changes the way the company operates, particularly information management. It allows the company to take control of its activities and ensure that key decisions are communicated promptly. Importantly, implemented information system influence the changes that the organization makes in its product offerings.

One of the significant changes made to the product offerings includes the introduction of new product and services. Following the implementation of the information system, the company should consider conceptualizing new products are currently on demand in the market. The new product should be able to meet the market needs to make economic sense. Introducing new products and services in the organization will widen the product, thus increase sales volume. Moreover, the company will be able to serve a larger market than before. However, the organization will incur extra costs since developing a new product requires more capital. Consequently, labor costs increases as more personnel are hired to oversee the development and marketing of the new product.

The product quality will also change as a result of information system implementation. Besides profit-making, the company also strives to deliver value to its customers. To do this, the organization must implement creative strategies that will ensure that the quality of the product increases, while the production cost is minimized. As a result, the company should adopt innovative technologies to realize this objective. According to Lawson (2019), technologies such as robotics are highly accurate and repeatable, hence increases the quality of the product. Despite being consistent and accurate, robots are also productive due to their enhance speed. Therefore, the implemented information system will support the introduction of modern technologies in the organization that will change the product offerings by enhancing product quality.

Product Offerings

Information system plays a critical role in addressing changes in the product offerings. It enables the company to generate information that is essential in managing various business operations. First, information system enhances communication system during the development of the new products and services. Markgraf (2019) argues that information system enhances collaboration between employees in the organization. For instance, the communication system will allow different project teams involved in the development of the new product to coordinate and expedite the development process. This implies that conflicts that often arise due to miscommunication will be minimized.

The implemented information system will also address the changes in product offerings by enhancing the decision-making process in the company. Making critical decisions is sometimes a daunting process, especially when there is adequate information. It involves selecting a course of actions from different options. However, managers can overcome this challenge by utilizing the decision making component of the information system. According to Markgraf (2019), information system enables managers to analyze the different scenario, including sales, profits, and costs that are critical in making decisions. In this case, the system will assist the company to determine the type of product that they should introduce in the market. Decision-making system will help in analyzing the market needs and profits that the company will accrue by developing a specific product.

Nonetheless, information system supports different technologies that are critical in improving the quality of the product. The system stores a wide range of information that can be critical in enhancing product quality. For example, the information system can be used to support technologies that are used to automate the quality control process. This means that the company will enhance the quality of its products with minimal human supervision. Similarly, data generated by the system enables the company to target customers and market its products more efficiently.

Capabilities

The capabilities of the new product offerings should be incorporated in the initial information system design because it enhances the company’s efficiency. Incorporating the changes made to the product offerings in the system allows the organization access and control all operations under the same platform. It ensures that the new product offerings are aligned with the company’s business model and goals. Additionally, incorporation of the new changes in the system allows the employees and other stakeholders to access the information. For instance, capturing different stages of development of the new product will allow customers and suppliers to access the information so that they can anticipate the output. According to Quality-One International (2020), incorporating changes in the information system allows customers to voice their opinions which helps the company to improve their designs and avoid late changes and revisions which are often costly. Therefore, including new product offerings in the system enhances the efficiency of the company’s operations.
