HRM 460 Compensation and Performance
Individual Class Presentation (20%)
Due on Nov 16, 2018
Each student will make one 10-minute presentation and submit a short paper on a
compensation issue of your choice.
PowerPoint Presentation
Each presentation should take about 10 minutes. Typically 6-10 slides will be
adequate for a 10-minute presentation. Please include a reference list at the end of
your PowerPoint presentation. Your presentation must NOT exceed 10 minutes. Do
NOT use PowerPoint alternatives such as Prezi.

Short paper (1-3 pages)
Discuss your critical evaluation of your chosen issue. Your paper should be 1-3 pages,
double spaced, excluding the reference paper. Please use 12-point Times Roman font
and include a reference list at the end of your short paper. Use APA style for in-text
citation and reference list.
Base your presentation on 2 to 3 articles from an HR practitioner publication such as
HRMagazine, major newspapers, or academic journals (e.g. HRM, HRMJ, Academy
of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal). Papers should cite at least 2
original research articles. Please use PowerPoint slides for the class presentation.

Due Dates
Email me (crystal.huang@csusb.edu) your paper and slides by 6:00pm on Nov 16. Students must come to class and save their presentation slides and paper to the classroom computer. Late submission will result in a penalty of 10% per day. Failure to present will result in a zero mark.
Presentation Dates
Students must set up their presentation before class on the day of their scheduled
presentation.
