(5) Please be careful with the intervals you construct! Your endpoints MUST be unit-specific (i.e., be multiplied by the correct multiple and have the correct label). Keep in mind that you may need to simplify your
calculations ($1000/100sq.ft.=$10/sq.ft., for example).
An Example To Help With Units:
Suppose y units are 15 feet/sec and x units are 5 revolutions/sec and you are calculating units for β1:
=[15 feet/sec]/[5 revolutions/sec]
=[15 feet/sec]*[sec/5 revolutions]
= 3 feet/revolution
Remember that units consist of (1) a multiple and (2) a label. Sometimes, when doing the calculation to get the units, numbers and/or labels may cancel each other out.
(6) When it comes to critical values (Steps 2 & 3):
(a) The t values on the t table only have three decimals. So, if you are looking for the t critical value associated with a particular area and df, go to where the area column crosses with the df row on the table.
(b) The F values on the F table only have two decimals. So, if you are looking for the F critical value associated with a particular area, df1, and df2, go to the area page where the df1 column crosses with
the df2 row on the table.
(7) In addition to NOTE (6) above, for Hand-Calculated Question 5:
(a) Fstat must be typed to two decimals.
(8) The Excel output you generate MUST look like output in the CHAP12 sheet of the Excel Templates spreadsheet (located on Blackboard's Textbook/Packet Discussion board). Make sure you have followed the
