Must be 6 pages in length, double-spaced, numbered, include 1-inch margins, use 12 point Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman, and include a cover page that identifies who you are, the title of the course, the name of your instructor.

Must include footnotes or endnotes and a Works Cited or Bibliography page. The citation style must be Chicago/Turabian. Citations must support the assertions made, and footnotes or endnotes must be used in each instance where detailed explanations would distract from the argument.

Will include three main parts—the Thesis/Introduction, Argument, and Conclusion.

Question:

The primary concern of American foreign policy since World War II has been the sustained Cold War conflict.   What were the fundamental issues and ideological perspectives that led to this situation?    Evaluate major milestones, controversies and legacies of this period.   Pay specific attention to constitutional separation of powers issues and the impact of public pressure upon events.   How did the non-aligned movement as well as regional disputes and resource issues demonstrate the need to expand beyond the rigid ideological parameters of the cold war focus?   What led to the demise of the Cold War and how has the nation responded to regional developments within the new challenges presented by international relations?
