The historical event that I selected is the assassination of the former United States president John Kennedy. The assassination of JFK is a historical event that creates a sense of surprise and doubt about how a sitting president of the United States can be assassinated in the presence of the best security detail. The event is significant in a manner that being considered part of the baby-boomers where we consider the current state of security the president of U.S receives including the intelligence (Mark, 2018). President John Kennedy was assassinated on November 1963 at around 12:30 pm on his motorcade towards Dallas. The president was attending a campaign event where citizens were lining on the streets and the motorcade was attacked where president was shot on the neck and the driver tried to escape the scene to a nearby memorial Hospital that later pronounced the president death. After the successful assassination the Lee Harvey Oswald who was a new employee in the Book Depository.

Based on the investigation, Oswald acted independently and he shot the governor including Jacqueline Kennedy (first lady) who was in the limo. The assassination was not an issue that is critical to accomplish by Oswald alone and the existing conspiracy theories nullify the argument by the Warren commission that tries to justify that justice was served through arresting Oswald. The conspiracy theories that emerged include the claims that Harvey Oswald was supported by strong influence of an organized crime team, also the CIA and the Cuban exiles (Maven, 2020). The conspiracies emerge because of the belief that the president of the United States enjoys strong protection in terms of intelligence. The information about the assassination is not convincing and further research is needed to prove some concepts. What was the motive of the assassination of John F. Kennedy?
