HIS 100 Theme 1: Learning Block 1-3 Short Response Rubric

History actually provides a solution to the problems we encounter presently. There are historical events which happened in the United States and are currently being reflected on to provide a solution to today’s problems. If a person forgets historical events in his/her surroundings, he/she will find it difficult to solve most of the current problems. A good example is the country’s fight against terrorism. The United States previously made efforts to fight the terrorist group, the Al-Qaida (McIntosh, 2015). It should be noted that the country was attacked by the extremist’s group back in 2011 where it hijacked East Cost Flights thereby crashing the planes in the targeted places in New York as well as Washington DC. History in this case shows that the US president who was George W. Bush declared war on terrorism. He also started a military campaign by calling on the world leaders to support the united states in responding to such attacks.

From history, it can be noted that the present solution was shaped. After the declaration of war on terrorism, most countries have made a considerable input in fighting the vice. A notable example of a solution to the current problems which was shaped by history is the fight against ISIS and Al-Shabaab by the United states. The recent killing of the ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi shows that the war against terrorism is still on. The history has presented a solution to this vice and this can be noted from decline in cases of attacks in the United States. Instances of attacks by the terrorists in the US soil have considerably declined over the past three years (McIntosh, 2015). The best strategy which can be applied in setting solutions for present problems is putting into place structures which will support the plan. The United states has had good governance which has aided in the fight against terrorism.
