Reflection

For this week's response, first read "The Case for Contamination  download" by Kwame Anthony Appiah and watch the instructor video on Cosmopolitanism. As you read, think about the connections you make with different cultures in your day to day life. After reading, please respond to the following prompts. 

Your reflection post should be between 300-500 words and include responses to the following: 

A. Based on the video, define Cosmopolitanism in your own words. 

B. Based on Appiah's argument, what are some of the benefits and drawbacks of cultural "contamination," i.e., globalization. Provide concrete example(s) in talking about the benefits and drawbacks. Include at lease one example of "contamination" from your own life/ community.

C. Based on Appiah's argument, does a cosmopolitan see cultural "contamination" as positive or negative?  What position do you take?
